Covid-19 Updates

On this page you will find our most recent updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on our service to residents.

Monday 19th July 2021

Throughout the Covid 19 pandemic we have kept you updated on changes to our procedures. On 19th July, as we come to Stage 4 of the Government’s “four-step roadmap out of lockdown”, we are hoping that we will begin to see some normality return. However, it is still important that we do everything we can to keep you safe and protect the services most important to you.  With that in mind, from 19th July we have made some changes and relaxed our Covid measures while retaining an element of caution to keep you and our staff safe.

  • Contractors working in PCHA properties or internal communal areas will still be required to wear a mask if requested to do so by residents, and to keep their distance from residents where practically possible (2 metres minimum). They will also be required to inform us if there is any coronavirus amongst their staff or close contacts and isolate immediately.

  • PCHA staff will be carrying out home visits by appointment. Staff will continue to carry masks, gloves and hand sanitiser. They will use hand sanitiser upon entering and leaving residents' homes, and will wear a mask and/or gloves during the visit if requested to do so by the resident. They will continue to wear masks when carrying out inspections of internal communal areas.

  • The office will be open to visitors by pre-booked appointment only. Such appointments can be made by phone on 020 8659 3055 or by email at Our office arrangements for managing the risk of infection remain in place and we would ask all visitors to use the hand sanitiser provided as they enter the building. The protective glass screen in reception fitted last year as part of our package of health and safety measures remains in place. Staff will always have masks available to use if requested to do so.

  • We are now operating our full range of both housing and repairs services. However, it should be noted that many contractors are struggling with the supply of materials and this, alongside staffing issues due to self-isolating etc, may cause some continued delays to works.

Repairs update

Following recent announcements and updates from the Government, we have reviewed our Covid 19 safety arrangements and repairs service.

  • From Monday 8th March we will resume routine repairs inside homes.

  • From Monday 29th March we will resume non-essential visits, inspections and surveys. We will also begin looking at our external decorations programme.

  • From 17th May we will recommence our planned maintenance programme for kitchens, bathrooms and internal communal decorations.

This is in line with the UK Government roadmap on easing lockdown restrictions.

The health and safety of our residents, contractors and staff remains our number one priority. You can help us in managing this by:

  • Telling us as soon as possible if you or anyone in your household currently has symptoms, is self-isolating or shielding. Call us on 020 8659 3055 or email us at

  • Keeping your distance while we or our contractors are inside your home. Please follow Government guidelines and ensure that you and any other household members remain at least 2 metres away at all times. If possible, you should stay in another room while we are in your home. PCHA staff and contractors will always wear a face covering and though not obligatory, we would ask that where possible, you do the same.

  • Opening external windows and doors whenever you can before and during a visit as ventilation is very important in helping prevent the virus from spreading.

Thank you for continuing to support us during these difficult times.
